Fitz & Floyd cookie jar

This is an outstanding example of late 60s, early 70s design. Wonderfully wild and fun, this is not your grandmother’s cookie jar (unless your grandmother was extremely hip). This owl has certainly been loved, since it has survived five decades in this remarkable condition. Marked on the base with the Fitz and Floyd logo. The cookie jar is 8.5″ high and 6.5″ in diameter.

Fitz and Floyd was founded in Dallas, Texas, in 1960 by Pat Fitzpatrick and Bob Floyd. The company began as an importer in the 60s, but by the 70s was designing its own line of hand-painted, superior quality ceramic ware. Presidents and governments around the world have selected Fitz and Floyd dinnerware. The city of Dallas commissioned them to create a tea service especially for Queen Elizabeth to commemorate her visit to the city.
